In our test of how it cleaned baking soda close to baseboards and in corners The Scout RX3 was impressive. Its 2,500Pa of suction was a little weaker than other robots, but it was able to move quickly and was quiet. It did not mop and its clean pad was a challenge to attach. It also was unable to take on dirt that had dried up.
Its app lacks advanced features such as multiple cleaning modes or automated scheduling. It does support Alexa however, its voice controls aren't very precise or responsive. It's also flaky when it comes to navigating its way back to the charging station after running other robots are able to follow a previous route or even follow a wall until they get to their destination however, the RX3 simply bumbles around until it quits and sends a failure message to your phone.
We also had issues with the intelligent features of the device, namely its mapping feature and digital stay-out zones. While it did a great job of avoiding our furniture legs and shoes but it could easily be hung up by cables and socks and it was not able to manage the tassels on rugs. This is the reason we decided not to include it in our Best Buy list. Still, with a decent price and a dazzling performance, the Scout RX3 is worth considering when you're looking for an alternative to the traditional uprights.
